Title pretty much says it all.  I've been interested in D&D for quite a long time, but could never find anyone near me who wanted to play, so I finally decided to jump head first with 5th Edition....only thing is, this is all kinda overwhelming.  I've read the character creation portion of the player's handbook, but still can't seem to get it right.

What I have so far is:

25 year old Half-Elf Neutral Evil Warlock who used to be a Wizard's Apprentice.

Did the 6d6 method for rolling my stats and they are:

Str-12

Dex-12

Con-14 (13 Roll + 1 for Warlock)

Int-15

Wis-16 (15 Roll + 1 for Warlock)

Cha-17 (15 Roll + 2 for Warlock)

Saving Throws: Wisdom / Charisma

Languages:

Race ability: Common / Elvish / Infernal

Background: Draconic / Abyssal

Skills:  2 for Warlock, 2 for Background

Arcana

Deception

History

Intimidation

Equiptment:

130 GP (rolled 3d4 for 12, got 10 from SAGE)

WARLOCK:

-Light Crossbow
-Bolt X20
-Arcane Focus
-Leather Armor
-Dagger X3

-Scholar's Pack

SAGE/WIZARD'S APPRENTICE
-Black Ink, Bottle
-Quill X1
-Small Knife
-Common Clothes
-Letter from dead colleague posing question not yet answered.

TRINKET (ROLLED 44)
-Mechanical canary in a gnomish lamp

Profeciencies:

Light Armor

Simple Weapons

Features and Traits:

Darkvision
Fey Ancestry

Personality Traits:

-Listens to every side of an argument before judging
-Speak slowly when talking to idiots (everyone)

Ideals

-Power

Bonds:

Sold my soul for knowledge, hope to do great deeds to get it back.

Flaws:

Most people scream and run from a demon.  I stop and take notes on its anatomy.

That's what I've got so far.  I know I'm missing something (other than spells, they're giving me some trouble as well).

Also, if I can get lucky and make it out to one of the shops for a Wednesday night game (closest is 20 miles away and starts roughly 10 minutes after I usually get off work), will I be able to use a premade character, or will whatever DM I get paired with want me to roll a character right there?

Thank you for your time, and any help is appreciated.

For Adventure League you'll have to use the stat array (15, 14, 13, 12,  10, 8) or the points buy system. Also, you don't get the gold AND equipment from your class/background. You get either or. For AL you can take the max gold for your class and buy your equipment piece by piece, keeping what you have left over. You can, of course, choose to take the equipment provided by your class/background instead.
