#1 Irokajin Dec 19, 2014 16:17:02	I recently began playing DND. I was forced into playing a pregen and I'd really rather not. So I was wondering because the people at my LGS said that characters can change until lvl 5.
#2 mellored Dec 19, 2014 17:28:29	Ask your DM.   But generally, pregens are used to get the game going quicker.
#3 dafrca Dec 19, 2014 18:10:33	mellored has the right answer; ask your DM. At my table I would give out Pre-Gens to allow a person to learn the game a little, then I would allow them to switch out as they, the player, felt comfortable.
#4 Coredump00 Dec 20, 2014 0:01:09	It sounds like you are playing in Adventure League.   If that is the case, the guidelines do let you completely change your character around, as long as you have never played at 5th level.   You keep the same equipment and same XP, but pretty much anything else is fair game.  Rearrange your stats, switch classes, switch races, change skills and feats.....   You could also restart with a new character at level 1 if you prefer....
