"New race options include the aarakocra, deep gnome, genasi, and goliath. Additionally, a plethora of new spells put the elements directly at your command."

No cleric spells. Lots of arcane spells.

Also flying aarakocra monks!

Btw everyone, I believe the module is called "Princes of the Apocalypse" and is currently available for pre-purchase (at a discount even! 20% off on amazon.ca) with a release date of April 7th 2015.  Cover art looks pretty darn cool.

sadly the flying race is too awsome for Adventure Leauge.

What hilarous is the lifting capacity a Goliath Barbarian bear aspect gets (2x for being treated as a large creature, then 2x that for bear aspect). Can easily lift over 2k lbs.

@Noctaem I might need help with another short background story tomorrow. But it'll be much shorter than the last. About 5 paragraphs.

And the art looks interesting.

I'm liking Absorb Elements - excellent Eldrich Knight spell. Protects against damage & adds damage to your next attack & casts as a reaction... Still no 2nd level spell worth casting in Abj/Evo, but Absorb Elements can be up-cast for extra damage

Melf Minute Meteors seems good for a fire Sorcerer.

Aarakroca have the caveat written write into it, basically saying your DM might not allow them. 50ft fly speed at-will? That can be pretty game breaking in some campaigns.

Spells seemed like a mix bag to me. Lots of elemental shaping effects. Others seem pretty sweet. Love the new cantrips.

The lack of any Cleric spells makes it seem as though the next thing will be Divine-oriented to show them some love.

I am really disappointed in the lack of elemental domains for clerics.

I just like the idea of slapping a guy in the face with a codpiece. (IE catapault spell)

clerics already have more options then most.
and most of these spells feel like bloat to me.

I don't suppose non-fire dragon sorcerers got enough love here to want to build one.

I think that the Tempest Cleric's domain spells should have gotten an update, there are better thematic options in here than shatter, insect plague and some of the cold spells. Then add a cold domain.

I'm upset that there aren't any sha-ir Warlock options.

I can't get the PDF to work on my phone, can someone post a quote of Magic Stones (and Frostbite (iirc))?

I'd say some spells and some races maybe game changers for grappler builds. Goliaths-natural athletics, counted as a size larger for carrying capacity , +2 str, +1 con, and reduce damage by and 12and con! The freaking eagle people have proficiency with their FEET attacks and can attack with it, and they have a fly speed. Grapple+jump+throw that jerk+gentle glide down.  Deep gnomes better druids, you get stealth adv, and a couple spells. And the spells! man, you can make a fire pit to drag and roost your enemies in, you can cause a gust of wind to move their weapons (disarming strike), and you can catapolt their weapons (disarming strike) and make a 2d6 attack!

I can't wait to see what the community does with this stuff. It'll be amazing.

Interestingly magic stone does not scale with your character level, either for damage or number of stones. While it might be OK near the start of your career it will quickly stop being worth it. I think it's main use would be to give stones to men at arms or hirelings so that they can throw them.

honestly, most of these spells seem like bloat.
there are some good ones, like absorb elements, and the pillar one, but otherwise most are just slightly different types of damage that already exsist. do we really need a lightning bolt that's fire instead?

I like the four Investiture spells for the Warlock.  They are 6th level spells, so it will be a while before we get to see even one of them in play, but they seem fun on paper.

Ice Knife is nice.

1d10 piercing on hit, 2d6 cold to any creature within 5ft on a failed save rwgardless of hit/miss.
