Even Stoneskin is fine providing they don't have every NPC in the game carrying magic weapons. And I think it is a great opportunity to limit magic weapons in the settings. I would like to suggest the following as a spell for feedback from people really knowledgeable about the game. This game has no way to deflect or gain immunity to a weapon attack, though it does to many spells. I think this is a viable alternative that allows wizards to stop arrows in front of him, and deflect a weapon attack from doing any damage. I really wanted a spell like this in the game that doesn't ruin the overall playstyle already in the game. So here is my suggestion.
Deflect
You deflect attacks that are from projectiles, weapons, and natural attacks that deal At Higher Levels: Each spell level higher than fourth level allows an additional attack to be |

It potentially stops quite a bit of damage. Personally, I'd make it require your Reaction to deflect an attack, so you can only deflect one per round.
I don't think that the 1/day requirement is neccessary. |

It seems to me that the spell doesn't seem to know what it is. It's a reaction spell that lasts for Concentration (up to 1 minute) but can only be cast once per day. Personally I would go with one of the following versions:
Deflect 4th-level Abjuration Casting Time: 1 Reaction, which you take when you are hit by an attack that deals bludgeoning, piercing or slashing damage Range: Self Components: V, S Duration: Instantaneous
You gain immunity to the damage from the triggering attack.
Or
Deflect
Unti the spell ends, you gain immunity to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage. Once this spell has affected four attacks against you, the spell ends.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, then number of attacks affected increases by one for each spell slot aboove 4th.
The first spell compares with Shield in function and therefore feels weak for a 4th level spell. Shield is therefore the superior spell especially as it applies to all attacks against you until you start your next turn and is a signficant increase in AC, potentially turning multiple hits into misses.
The second spell compares directly with Stoneskin. Stoneskin applies Resistance to all nonmagical bludgeoning, piercing or slashing damage for up to 1 hour and consumes 100gp in material components for each casting, this spell applies immunity to 4+ attacks for 1 minute and is self only. Take your pick as to which you think is better.

This will be the version I go with, thanks for the feedback and suggestions. |
