Wanting to get opinions on this character. He is for Organized Play.

The name niggles on me a bit: "Painbearer" Joha practices the Life Domain?

 

Also what are his characteristics (Personality, Ideal, Bond, Flaw)?

Using the title "Painbearer" since he follows Ilmater, the Broken God. The clergy for Ilmater use this title sometimes in public and it was the name originally for his specialty priests. Characteristics are as follows:

 

Personality Traits: "I am utterly serene, even in the face of danger" (possibly changing this one to "I feel tremendous empathy for all who suffer") and "I often get lost in my own thoughts and contemplation, becoming oblivious to my surroundings."

 

Ideal: "My gifts are meant to be shared with all, not used for my own benefit."

 

Bond: "I'm still seeking the enlightenment I pursued in my seclusion, and it still eludes me."

 

Flaw: "I harbor dark, bloodthirsty thoughts that my isolation and meditation failed to quell."

With a half-orc, I would be tempted to go with the War Domain and take part in that synergy between race and class. 

 

Life is a great domain though, I just think I would love to see a half-orc war cleric in action...I might have to make one at some point

War Domain and Half Orc Cleric goes really really well together because they get Hold Person. 

 

Hold Person (Action) + Bonus Action (Weapon Attack Crit) for the first round. Next round they could use their action and bonus action to get two weapon crits... 

 

Round 1

Hold Person (Action)

Pull out great axe (free)

3d12+3 (BA)

 

Rund 2

3d12+ 3 (Action)

3d12 + 3 (Bonus Action)

 

Yeah, the boss is going down... This is just the cleric without help of the allies....
