Multiclassing is fine, different melee weapons are fine, but please keep the discussion to only melee builds and the war cleric because of the character concept I have in mind.
Thanks to any future contributions! |

That said, if you still want war cleric, just grab a big weapon and start swinging. Str/Con with whatever left over in Wis. Half orc most likely. Possibly take 2 levels of paladin for great weapon master and smiting. |

Then put your high score in Wisdom with your human stats bumb in Wisdom, and with shillelagh your club/quarterstaff will do 1d8+Wisdom modifier, your attack using that club/quarterstaff will be 1d20+profiency+wisdom modifier. Then with your high wisdom you should be able to use your extra attack often, your spell DC will be high, and you'll be able to prepare many spell for a good selection to be adadtative. and your healing spell will benefit from the higher wisdom (specially since you are lacking the life domain to boost your healing spell). |

That said, there are a lot of low level class abilities in fighter, barbarian, paladin, and even ranger that will help a lot. You probably want to take 1 of those to level 5 to get a second attack. Can you heal exhaustion? Action surge + reckless attack + fighting style (gwf) + berserk bonus attack + riposte reaction attack, for example, takes 5 fighter 3 barbarian. |
