If I understand it correctly, its either 3 HP, +1 CON save or +1 to DEX and WIS saves and +1 to Insight, Perception and inititative. Seems like the other option is better, but I am unsure. Which one is better in your opinion? Great Weapon Fighting, Vengeance.
STR 16 DEX 8 CON 16 INT 8 WIS 10 CHA 16
or
STR 16 DEX 10 CON 14 INT 8 WIS 12 CHA 16 |

However, it does effect Initiative and Dex saves, which may or may not be important to you. When I'm playing my Paladin, I am "Tanking" with Shield Master for two rogues... You are obviously more focused on damage.
As long as you aren't expected to "Tank", then I would recommend going 16 Str, 10 Dex, 14 Con, 8 Int, 12 Wis, 16 Cha (the second option) unless you think the DM might allow feats later, then I would drop dex to 8 and con to 15, and take feat Resilient (Con) later on in the game. If you are expected to take the hits to protect the rest of the group, go with th 16 con option. |

Look over the Monster Manual for things you are likely to face, and calculate an Initiative modifier of +1 more than their average. That will help you decide how much to invest in DEX.
Pick Bless spell ASAP, to help to-hit rolls. Plan to spend about 1 spell slot per fight, sometimes as a Paladin-Smite sometimes as a Spell-Smite. Command can be fun too in urban fights.
Just to confuse your DM, do not always use Channel Divinity as Enmity; sometimes having a tough monster trying to sneak away from his friends can be fun and useful - especially if he is a Recurring Villian !
