The Archivist in 3.5 offered a good blend of arcane and divine casting. The cleric spell "Anyspell" and it's greater version offered clerics a way to cast arcane spells of lower level than the spell itself, much like the current version of wish allows for the casting of all spells 8th level and lower without the need for costly components and long casting times.

I wanted to combine that versatility and ability to bypass long casting times and prohibitive component costs at the expense of using higher level spell slots and requiring a higher character level. Low levels spells such as chromatic orb and stoneskin are nice, but can become quite expensive with regular use.

Broad Study

2nd level: When you choose this tradition you gain 2 cantrips and 1 first level spell of your choosing from any classes' spell lists. At levels 6, 10, and 14 you gain an additional spell of a level you are capable of casting. At level 17 you add Wish to your spell book.

Lesser Anyspell

6th level: Once per short rest you may use a 3rd level spell slot to cast a spell of 2nd level or lower, you ignore all material and somatic components of the spell and require only a single action to cast it. If casting a 1st level spell that scales based on slot level you may have it count as a 2nd level spell. At 10th level you may use this feature three times per short rest and at 14th level you may use it at will.

Anyspell

10th level: Once per long rest you may use a 5th level spell slot to cast a spell of 4th level or lower, you ignore all material and somatic components of the spell and require only a single action to cast it. If casting a spell of 3rd level or lower that scales based on slot level you may have it count as a 4th level spell. At 14th level you may use this feature three times per long rest.

Greater Anyspell

14th level: Once per long rest you may use a 7th level spell slot to cast a spell of 6th level or lower, you ignore all material and somatic components of the spell and require only a single action to cast it. If casting a spell of 5th level or lower that scales based on slot level you may have it count as a 6th level spell. At level 17+ when casting Wish to mimic spells of 8th level and lower the mimiced spell scales to 8th level if it is capable of doing so.

The class features are a little boring as they are simply scaled versions of each other, but I feel they add alot of versatility to the already versatile wizard class and allow some spells that are underused due to prohibitive costs to see more action.
