I won't bore you with much of the fluff (although there will be some) but here she is right now: "Luna", Chaotic Nuetral, Varient Human, Soldier (Scout), Fighter 4 Barbarian 1, Crossbow Expert Str: 12[+1], Dex: 18[+2], Con: 15[+1], Int: 9, Wis: 14, Cha: 10 For a final scores of: Str: 13, Dex: 20, Con: 16, Int: 9, Wis: 14, Cha: 10
She wields two hand crossbows and wears either a hooded cloak or nothing (haven't decided). That should give her a HP of 56 and an AC of 18 [10+5(Dex Mod)+3(Con Mod)]. Thanks to the Fighter's Archery style, she shoots accurately and often. Her standard turn involes shooting at: +10 [+5(dex mod)+3(proficiency)+2(archery style)], for 1d6+5 damage each.
So that's "Luna"'s mechanics in a nutshell. Or at least the parts I can remember (being unable to find her character sheet right now).
Fluff wise, "Luna" (an assumed name) is a member of the Neverwinter version of the SAS, befitting her independent "get the job done" nature. She is hard to intimidate, being able to stare down hellhounds and the likes, and highly values her freedom. She does, however, possess a competitive streak, and is unlikely to admit she's wrong in even the most obvious of situations (prefering instead to ignore the fact she ever said anything). |

You must have rolled for stats? Pretty sweet to have a 20 dex at level 5 with a human!
Looks like a solid build though. I might have swapped the STR and CHA scores to give her a bit of an advantage in non-combat encounters since STR is useless with crossbows. |
| #3YunruAug 23, 2014 14:25:39 | Strength was required for the Barbarian Multiclass. And nah, there's been no discussion about it. Discussion implies two sides presenting their case backed up by facts. Yup, stats were rolled. Interestingly the person who next rolled ended up with near identical stats too. |
| #4Captain_KoboldAug 23, 2014 15:10:51 | Is the Barbarian level just for unarmoured defence? How would that compare to Monk, which would give one less AC but a more versatile option for close-in fighting.

| #5YunruAug 23, 2014 15:12:19 | The Barbarian will only be a single level dip. Eventual goal is a Fighter 15|Rogue 4|Barbarian 1. |
| #6WhirAug 23, 2014 15:15:52 | Forgot about the STR requirement for multi-class. Are you only dipping into Barb for Unarmored Defense? Otherwise, Captain_Kobold makes a great point. |
| #7YunruAug 23, 2014 15:31:25 | Yeah just for UD. Conisdering I'll be bumping Con anway for HP it just seems like an obvious choice. As for melee options... well I can always just shoot 'em some more. |
| #8Captain_KoboldAug 23, 2014 16:34:57 | I was thinking versatility in terms of being able to make Opportunity Attacks or deal bludgeoning damage. |
| #9LeugrenAug 24, 2014 10:38:28 | Are you asking for a critique in terms of whether or not this character is optimized? Or are you looking for something else? It would be better if you stated your goals so that we can understand what you are trying to achieve here. Why take the 1-level dip into the barbarian class, for instance? Is it because you're determined to play a warrior who doesn't wear any armor? Why not take a 2-level dip and pick up Reckless Attack for advantage on all attacks, or better yet, a 3-level dip for resistance to all types of damage except psychic? |
| #10SorxoresAug 24, 2014 11:14:27 | 1 level or barbarian to avoid wearing a studded leather armor, that eventually could receive magic bonus?
1 level in monk would offer you a similar UD. Instead of Con for moreHP (if you do your job well, you will stay away from the monster, and stay witht he mage who have half your HP, so if they survive you will survive too), you could take Wis for better perception and insight. The monk will also let you reduce your Str to 9 (lowest rolled stats) giving you an extra point to put where you want from your racial (combined with a feat giving +1 to one stat and other bonus it could be very usefull) and freeing up your 12 for a higher Intellect or Cha for persuation and intimidation.
that 1 levle in monk will also let you use your fist with your Dex to teach some manner to people int he tavern. if you transfert your rogue level into monk, you will also gain a speed increase, protection against other range weapon, and some magical ability (I love shadow monk who can teleport/ become invisible from shadow to shadow)
or even drop the UD completly, use a studded leather instead, and go rogue 5 to gain uncanny dodge (half the damage as a reaction) |
