#1 elkaholic Jan 30, 2015 9:29:20	I couldn't find it anywhere, and I haven't gotten my copy of the full PHB yet, so if it is in there then let me know.   Thinking of a pirate background for a new character (Rogue/Assassin).  Has anyone seen this background posted anywhere?  Would rather have a starting guide than have to come up with all of it fresh.   Thanks in advance.
#2 Devils-Advocate Jan 30, 2015 9:38:58	There's a Sailor background with a sidebar about modifying it for a Pirate by replacing the normal feature with the Bad Reputation feature.

#5 guachi Jan 30, 2015 22:13:55	I love the background feature. I hated it at first, but I've come to really like it. It forces a character to at least minimally think about his character because even a player purely focused on mechanics has a reason to look at it.   Another reason I like backgrounds is that it's difficult if not impossible to really break them. You get 2 skills, 2 tools/languages/instruments, and some fluff. I've told my players they are welcome to make up their own backgrounds as long as they follow that basic guideline.
#6 Yunru Jan 31, 2015 4:15:17	Some fluff? Look at False Identity (Charlatan feature) and tell me that's "some fluff". I could topple empires with that.
