I am doing D&D 5E and might take the Polearm feat. I am 3rd level. However I need some clarifcation on it. As it states, it says that any enemy that comes within ten feet of you allows you to take an AOO against it if you are weilding a halbred, glaive, or quaterstaff (I think). What I am wondering is this: does this mean you still only get the one AOO you are allowed? Meaning this feat is really only good for one time per encounter? Or does this feat mean literally anytime a enemy comes within 10 feet of you while you're weilding one of those weapons, you get to take the AOO?

Every round of combat, you get an

- Attack action (multiple at higher levels for some classes),

- move action

- some free actions that you can combine with the move or attack (see PHB)

- one bonus action max (not everyone gets this, you only get it if some class feature/feat/spell specifies it)

- one reaction max (opportunity attack is the best example, many class features e.g. Tempest Cleric Level 2 'Wrath of the Storm' ability.)

Now Polearm Mastery feat, there are two separate parts to the feat:

A. You get a bonus action whenever you attack with one of the specified weapons (max, one per round)

E.g. Glaive, Main attack 1d10+Modifiers, Bonus attack 1d4+modifiers

B. You get an opportunity attack as a reaction, if someone comes into your reach, max one per round (ordinarily everyone gets opportunity attack when enemy 'leaves' melee reach without using disengage. So the feat gives your char a new threat I.e. Even enemies 'entering' reach will get attacked. But since u only get one reaction per round, if many enemies come into OR leave your reach in the same round, you still get just the one reaction attack)

E.g. Glaive, enemy comes within 10 feet of your character, you get a reaction 1d10+modifiers. If you don't kill it, the enemy continues with his turn.
