I am planning to play in the upcoming Princes of the Apocalypse campaign, which will be cool. So far the caveat is that we all play genasi, no problem so far. Right now thare is a Fire Genasi Wizard, an Earth Genasi Fighter or Paladin (don't remember) and a Water Genasi Druid. I would like to play a Air Genasi bard, but not sure which will be the correct build for it valor or lore. Also how much of a hidrance will be starting with a 15 Charisma? |

Starting with a 14 - 15 in your main stat is flat out playable in any game except one with everyone min-maxes; if you're all playing Genasi, that's flat out not a min-maxed game. Charisma is still important, since it affects your number of Bardic Inspirations a rest.
That said, Lore Bards are the dedicated casters of bards, and you'll be relying heavily on spells for your damage and control. Valor bards, however, favor Dexterity over Charisma, which adds into their AC, attack, and damage. They can actually get away with only a minimum of Charisma, if you don't mind low Bardic Inspirations. Of course, they'd be low anyways if your GM is stingy with short rests (which is fairly common, actually).

Strenght:8 Dex: 15+1 Con: 14+2 Int: 8 Wis: 12 Cha: 14
or Dex 15+1 Con: 14+2 Int: 10 Wis:10 Cha: 14
Wisdom destermine your perception and insight. Intellect is mainly used for knowledge and investigation roll. Strenght is flat out useless for a dex base character, very few spell require strenght check, using the skill variant rule, if you describe your Athletic check you could be allowed to use yor dex instead of strenght, and youcan use your spells to help you with those.
unless you wanted to take the resilience(wisdom) you shouldn't take odd numbers |
