| #1WilliamCQApr 14, 2015 12:41:28 | I've created a dragonborn PC and been reading a bit on it. There's mention that they hate so much dragons that they even avoid deities fitting for them because as a mortal it was a dragon. I have a language to choose for my PC and I'm wondering which race is an ally to dragon or that it frequently collaborate with them in the Exotic Languages list of PHB > Chapter 4: Personality and Background > Character Details > Languages (p. 123).
Thank you kindly for your help |

They lost their nation a long time ago in most settings, and are semi-nomadic. They have tribes and villages in some areas, but most of them are limited to under a hundred in population. very much a race in decline. The best thing to do is figure out where region your from and pick some one to be friendly with. I imagine goliaths are friendly with just about any one that have things to trade, so giant wouldnt be a bad choice. Dwarfs arent big dragon fans, but might make decent trade partners as well. |

Dragons and many of their followers will speak Draconic itself, so that might be a good choice of language.
Dragons often have kobolds as servants. Dragons are traditionally solitary, so alliances might be unique to a specific dragon, rather than loyalty to dragons a whole. It's worth asking your DM whether there are any races that fill the role you want in their campaign setting, and working with them on the issue. |

IF you use the 4th edition lore, the old Dragonborn nation fell in a war with the tieflings. Abysal is their native tongue, though tieflings no longer have nation any more, and in most setting where never as populated as they where in 4th edition.
Dragons hardly work with other creatures. Even the goodly or lawfuly aligned dragons rarely work with other dragons, let alone a lord of some kind from another species. Ask your DM, since you havent told us which setting you are playing in. |
