Would love thougths on this build. Was initially looking to do an EK skill monkey, but got excited about the idea of a shillelagh fighter.

The goal is to be a fun build across all levels. Nothing's really set in stone; curious what others suggest.

The primary mechanic is using War Magic to combine a cantrip + attack, maximizing the value of Hex while also being hard-to-hit and tough to disrupt concentration. Spells are generally used for off-turn actions (Shield, Hellish RebukeMisty Step), plus I have unlimited ritual capability, a familiar, and 10 cantrips (pretty much all for RP usage except Eldritch Blast and Guidance). Action Surge gives me an incredible nova round.

If you want to do a Shillelagh fighter, then why not Warlock (pact)-14/Bard (lore)-6?  You get the same number of attacks with your shillelagh and both classes depend on Con, and you get DOUBLE Cha for your Shillelagh at the top end for damage.

The thing that concerns me a bit with the above build is you are investing in weak EK casting that depends on Int.  I also don't get why you'd want level 7 EK (I can see level 6).  I think Hurl through Hell is better than whatever EK6 gives you.

I like it. It's just, ouch, until lv7 before you get a stat/feat bump...

Shillelagh is a lot easier to build around if you start at a higher level, because the regular stats will kind of suck.

You can wear heavy armor even without Strength, because it just lowers your speed by 10ft then. Depends on what you want.

Is this just a thought experiment, or for a campaign?

OK, this makes sense given what you want.  I forgot about the EK-7 ability to be honest.  You obviouisly prefer a GISH more on the fighter side while I tend to prefer one on the more caster side.  I'm also discovering that concentration isn't as big a problem as a thought [admittedly playing a ranged caster type].  Like the poster above, however, I do wonder about it developing a bit slowly, however.

How important is the Level 7 Warlock spell to you? Finger of Death does have some cool things that could go for it, but you could also change out Warlock level 13 for for fighter level 8 and another ability boost or feat.

Your damage is a bit better than that. Hex adds d6, not d4.

I just made a slight edit to this; replaced Friends with Thunderclap, because who doesn't want at-will AoE in a melee gish build?
