Reliable ways to get Alter Form onto a Monk?

Alter Form is a decent spell - more to the point it's third effect is *awesome* for unarmed attackers. For Monks it's simply a must-have. Turn you Unarmed Strike into a (minimum) 1d6 +1 magic weapon

unfortunately there's not a lot of ways to reliably get Alter Form on a Monk that I could find.

There's starting out Sorcerer (for Con ST proficiency) and taking it to level 5, which nets you enough Spell Slots to reliably cast it 1/encounter. Likewise taking Sorce to 3 (or 4 for an ASI) and Warlock to 3 (see before) also nets you a reliable way to cast it (and Eldritch Blast for those interested). But both of those involve serious level investment.

So I guess my question is: Is there a reliable, non-investment heavy, way to acquire and be able to (reliably) cast Alter Form on a Monk?

EDIT: Depending upon how many short rests and the time between encounters in a day, one of the simplist ways is to go Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer 3. That nets you 2 Lvl 2 Spell Slots for Alter Form, Extended Spell to make each casting two hours long, or an extra lvl 2 Spell Slot if you need to cast it a third time (albeit each time couldn't be Extended in order to get the third).

A monk would almost never want to be the caster for this effect since it's a concentration spell which would be easily disrupted with them in the fray. You get your ally to cast it on you instead.

Alter Form has a range of Self...

Although you're right, picking up War Caster would be a good idea.

Well to address you points in reverse:

Why do you need to max Wis? It's only used for Unarmored Defense, which Draconic Resilience easily sorts (well, it's at most a -2 to AC).

You get proficiency by starting as a sorcerer.

And for a final point: Take Human Variant. Voila, free feat.

Admittedly there is a little MADness. Dex needs to be highest, Con needs to be high and Wis and Cha must both be 13.

Doh, forgot about the Ki Saves. Well, guess I'll save it for a rolled stats campaign.
