| #1ErrantFeb 06, 2015 22:52:50 | Apologies if the answer should be obvious, but (where) are the rules for creating, or more specificaly equipping, higher level characters?
If I make a 12th level character, how much gold and/or how many magic items should he have?
So far my searching skills have failed me.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Finally found the Starting at Higher Level section in the DMG, but if there's any rules out there I'd be grateful to hear about them.

as an example, in an all evil drow campaign I'm starting up our DM told us to roll lvl 8 characters with 1 rare item and 1 uncommon item (no ability modifying ones like belts of giants strength allowed) so I grabbed a ring of spell storing and goggles of eagles sight.
im looking forward to being the most overpowered paladin in history between the spell storing ring, and my house insiginia that grants 2/day instead of 1 on all my racial spells, levitate, and an additional spell (im thinking 60ft blink atm).
god mode turn on.
EDIT: oh yeah as a preistess of Lolth i also get the snake headed whip lolololol #drowlife |

This thread has some of it ... and a reference at the bottom (I failed to link it bad aDMg) http://community.wizards.com/forum/player-help/threads/4176051
