| #1lkwpeterFeb 27, 2015 12:05:08 | Hey there!
I'm starting as a Human Fighter(1)/Rogue(3) at the momment and I like to be the leader of the group, especially in dungeons. Moreover I am going to go for range attacks with bow or crossbow.
Now I am considering what would be worth more for picking at the first level: the Skulker or Observant feat.
What I like on Observant is that if you have it you are definitly the dungeon leader, almost unable to get suprised or running into an ambush.
Skulker is nice as well, but I am not quite sure if "hiding even if only lightly obscured" is really worth it, beacause in fights there are mostly fellows that grant you Sneak Attack.
What you think about it?
Thanks in advance! Peter |

It works completely counterintuitively.
My wizard took it, and it is kind of weird having to constantly point out how much my character ISNT paying attention in order to notice something...."Hey I am just sort of FACING this way and that....not really looking for anything.....do I notice it with the +5!?
And currently there is no use for passive (investigation), other than the single mention in the phb that most skills can be used passively.
It should just be +5 to passive perception, and +5 to -active- Investigation....which makes it actually make sense. |

(Ex. You are walking down a hall, most people would keep walking, but you get a 'feeling' about how the bricks look on the right wall. You roll perception and may find the secret door.)
Not sure how I will change Observant, may give the +5 to passive, and advantage on the active.... |
