| #1ManicMonkeyMay 06, 2015 21:02:24 | This is something that always sat funny with me. Fey Ancestry lets the elf laugh at sleep magic. Do you think maybe it should be advantage so it dosn't shut down a hold set of spells. But when you look a Gnome Cunning it kind of balances which in turn seems a little over powered. I'm used to 3.5 and am just starting 5th. Please give your opinion. Thanks |
| #2transcendantviewerMay 06, 2015 21:27:43 | Elves have always been immune to sleep magic. The fact that they don't sleep affords them that benefit. It doesn't protect them against Drow Poison, however. |
| #3supreme_slayerMay 07, 2015 8:54:53 | Gnome Cunning is indeed very powerful, which is why it is pretty much the only feature that a gnome recieves besides their ability score increases. Most of the other things are for flavor.
And there are not a lot of spells that put people to sleep, so I don't think that being immune to it is overpowered. |
| #4BreefolkMay 07, 2015 12:04:36 | There is the Sleep spell, of course. The thing is, the Sleep spell doesn't allow a saving throw; it just puts you to sleep if your hit points are low enough. Being immune to that doesn't seem terribly overpowered to me, honestly. |
