New player here. It's great to join you guys!
My character is an aspiring Evil Overlord. He is currently adventuring in order to gain strength, minions, and eventually an evil fortress. He puts on a facade of trustworthiness, but is actually only interested in his own ambitions (so I am leaning towards Neutral Evil). He is a Bard in a well-known court, and is studying the deeds of past Villains so as to not make the same mistakes (ala TV Tropes).

I chose Bard for manipulation, and Sorcerer for combat. My God is Vecna, race is Human.
Stats are as follows:
STR: 10
DEX: 17
CON: 18
INT: 16
WIS: 13
CHA: 18

Having no idea the ins and outs of D&D specifically, what feats/claims/skills do you recommend for this character?
Some item suggestions wouldn't be out of order, either.

Bard/sorcerer mesh well enough.  Just note that you loose the high end spells by multiclassing.  Though you get alot more low end spells.

I just finished up my bard guide here.

And here's a sorcerer's guide.

There isn't much of a multi-class guide yet.

For an evil manipulative Sorcerer/Bard I'd definitely recommend take the metamagic Subtle Spell (so you can cast without any sound or gestures) and use the Bard Magical Secrets to pick up spells like Bestow Curse, Hex or Contagion (potentially very long-lasting debilitating spells) on top of the ones you have like Geas.

Screw over the fools stymying your inevitable rise to power without them even knowing who or what is responsible!

Charlatain background with the Actor feat at level 1. The character you're playing is the False Identity, so almost everything you say and do is all just an act. Now uncovering your true identity will be all that much harder, due to Deception and Performance checks being at an advantage. Then you get Expertise in Deception at Bard 3.
