You reach you Max 15 Sorcerer spells and gain 6 more spells, medium and weapons with Lore of Valor, and increase in skills.
Then Magic Initiate for Cleric. |

The main gotcha is the bard is missing a solid DPR cantrip to make use of quicken. The sorlock has Eldritch Blast and Invocations that boost it that give them an impressive DPR boost with just a 2 level dip into warlock. If you go bard instead you get more utility spells known and a few (daily) slots so you'll be more supportive, you get 5 AC so you'll be more survivable, but how did your damage increase? You're also lacking bard 5 for the short rest inspiration dice. |

| #6Mephi1234Nov 29, 2014 7:30:34 | When people talk about Sorcerer-Warlock, they're just focusing on stealing Eldrtich Blast - they don't really care about the rest of the warlock class, just one spell and its supporting mechanics. A real shame, since there's a lot going for higher levels, and the arguable boost in power for the sorcerer comes down to just being a one trick pony.
Anyways, if we're going to go with the Sorcerer Bard, we're going to have to ask ourselves why. What are we looking for? Metamagic on the bard's spells? Adding a bit of Bardic Inspiration and skills?
Personally, if we're going that route, I would go with Bard (Lore) 6+ / Sorcerer 3. Use the three levels of sorcerer to get some metamagic effects. Use the Magical Secrets path of the Lore bard to snag higher level spells that you have slots for, but don't qualify for in terms of spell's known normally. (Example - a level 6 bard normally only knows level 3 spells. A level bard 6 / sorcerer 3 could use Magical secrets to learn up to level 5 spells. A level 14 bard / 3 sorcerer can use magical secrets to grab a level 9 spell. And so on.) |
