Spell-Less Ranger Questions

Since there's now been two Ranger versions released via Unearthed Arcana, I'm asking about the first one released back in April that you can see here: https://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/modifying-classes

 

A few questions I'm a bit unclear on.

 

The feature presented represent changes to the base class, correct? So I still gain things like Colossus Slayer and other Hunter features?

 

How does Primeval Awareness work in this instance? I read over it, perhaps I missed it, but with no spells to burn off... Uh, what happens? Number of uses per day equal to your Wisdom modifier?

Since you get Poultices at 3rd level in that version, and Primeval Awareness is a 3rd level feature based on spell slots you also get at that level, I would imagine you just lose PA. But WIS-mod uses/day seems like as good a response as any.

 

Otherwise yeah, you should get everything else the features don't touch.
