If i have extra attack do I have advantage on the second attack? if i have a bonus action that permits me to make another attack do I have advantage on that attack? Is there a written rule or It's up to the DM? |

If this turns out to create a "arms race for surprise" or means that everybody else steps on the Rogue's toes, then I would discuss it with the table and change my ruling after the next Downtime.
In general. I think attacks made on an unaware enemy ought to be more effective (this goes both ways) than attacks made when everybody is in combat. So if you are ever a PC at my table, plan well vs. ambushes ! |

Having said that, when you do get greater invisibility, cast on rogue and laugh manically.

| #10guachiDec 07, 2014 17:31:07 | You could be an assassin and you'd have advantage on all attacks on any target that hasn't taken a turn in combat. Don't even have to surprise them, just win initiative. |
| #11DyndrilliacDec 08, 2014 0:29:17 | You could dip 2 warlock levels for Devil's Sight and cast Darkness using Arcane Trickster spell slots (though you can't learn an evocation spell higher than 1st-level until your 8th level of Arcane Trickster. You can use the other invocation slot for either at-will Mage Armor, at-will Disguise Self, at-will Silent Image, or at-will Detect Magic all of which could be useful on an Arcane Trickster.
Later on just get a Wizard ally to cast the 9th-level spell Foresight on you. That will give you advantage on every d20 roll, and imose disadvantage on all your enemies' attack rolls. It also makes it so that you can't be surprised. |
