Str Based Blade Warlock

Ok, question for those of you who have the book already (or are just more knowledgable). I'm working on a character concpet for a Warlock who uses Battleaxes as her pact blade (I assume that's posible?). Regardless, I'm having a hard time balancing the need for Cha, Str and Dex/Con. What do you feel would be the better solution? I know the Warlock gets spells that provide temp HP, would that be enough to cover a low Con score? Would she be better off trading Dex for Con and picking up levels in Barbarian?

I should also probably mention that for thematic reasons she wouldn't want to wear any armor, or at the very least not medium or heavy armor. As I do realize most of this could easily be solved by grabbing levels in fighter and then wearing full plate.

Any input would be wonderful!

If anything, armour of shadows should be the first invocation you pick, and mage armour should be the first spell you pick. Mage armour is a must for warrior mages, whether they be warlocks, wizards, sorcerers or bards and should be taken if you have the option of doing so.

Just realized mage arour isn't a spell for warlocks, armour of agathys would be a better choice for a spell

If you dip Drcaonic Bloodline Sorcerer (which is also a good idea for Spellcasting) you get always-on Mage Armor (Draconic Resilience) in addition to other goodies. Saves you the invocation slot and the spell slots. Also, either go Dragonborn (+2 Str, +1 Cha) or Half-Elf (+2 Cha, +1 to two other stats of your choice) for your ability scores.

How about Paladin (avenger) 13/ Warlock 7? If I read it right, the prerequisite on Lifedrinker is character level, so you can end up with 2 attacks at W+1d8+str mod+cha mod. Haste makes this 3 attacks, and you also have access to Greater Invisibility via Archfey pact.

Take one level of Druid to get the Druid cantrip Shillelagh, then make your pact weapon be a Quarterstaff.  Cast Shillelagh on the pact quarterstaff and you can now use your casting stat instead of your Strength for the attack and damage rolls.  Sadly, this won't work on a battleaxe.  ;)

Considering we're talking about cantrip castings again.... wouldn't we be going back into Book Warlock territory?   You can get the druid cantrip for free with the Book Form at level 3, and it uses Charisma then.

Well, that's kind of what I meant.   Using the cantrip is more of a witch thing than a hexblade thing.    Doesn't really work.

I think your best bet is to pick a finesse weapon. Stacking DEX gives you AC, Initiative and three skills, stanking STR just gives you one skill. As for multiclass, I would probably either go Fighter 7 to get War Magic or Rogue for sneak attack.

Would a Mountain Dwarf make a good bladelock?

Just for clarity on the Shillelagh issue:

The wood of a club or quarterstaff you are holding is
imbued with nature’s power. For the duration, you can
use your spellcasting ability instead o f Strength for
the attack and damage rolls of melee attacks using
that w eapon, and the weapon's damage die becomes
a d8. The weapon also becomes magical, if it isn’t
already. The spell ends if you cast it again or if you let go
o f the weapon.
