subtle spells and hiding

Let's say I am hidden. I cast an attack spell, like chromatic orb, but I use "subtle spell", the sorcerer's metamagic effect to eliminate somatic and verbal components. Am I still hidden? On page 177 it says specifically that making noise is the thing that reveals you.

Ranged attacks reveal your location rather they hit or miss.  If you take the skulker feat you could remain hidden on a miss.  But a hit always reveals your location.

you won't be HIDDEN anymore as per the reference Demosthenes gave you, because the target could see from where the spell came from for example.

 

But in the same references, they explain the difference between UNSEEN and HIDDEN, you won't be HIDDEN anymore, but might still be UNSEEN.

They won't hear it coming, or see you making gestures in the crowd. But they WILL see the trail your lightning bolt or Scorching Ray left. The enemy then gets to connect the dots for free!

 

Which is why a hit (or miss, if you take Skulker) will reveal you. Also, echoing what Sorxores said. They may know what square you're in, but may not exactly see you depending

right, DM fiat when it comes to how the creature you attacked perceives you hiding again behind the ally.
