| #1AndrewJOApr 30, 2015 5:46:19 | Help me reimagine super heroes as D&D characters! Specifically, I'm looking for help with my 2 favorite heroes, Batman and Green Arrow. Also if you guys have any super heroes that you enjoy and want to make into D&D characters, post your build in this thread. |
| #2AndrewJOApr 30, 2015 5:52:17 | Batman: Monk14, Way of the Open Hand/Fighter3, Battle Master/Rogue3, Thief. |
| #3melloredApr 30, 2015 5:54:04 | green arrow -> ranger. |
| #4AndrewJOApr 30, 2015 5:56:40 | Green Arrow: Fighter11, Battle Master/Rogue9, Assassin. |

| #9Setzer_GApr 30, 2015 13:15:04 | I still think Batman should be a Monk (Shadow)/ Paladin (Vengeance) / Rogue (Assassin), although Ranger (Hunter) certainly fits too.

| #11Setzer_GApr 30, 2015 17:08:04 | Sorry, mistyped. No, noone was disagreeing with me, I apparently decided to reply that way for some reason.
There's an Iron Gnome around here somewhere on the forums
Punisher (dex based Battlemaster Fighter, Soldier), Doctor Strange (Warlock/Wizard, Acolyte) and Thor (Tempest Cleric, Noble) seem obvious to me. |
| #12MechaPilotApr 30, 2015 17:36:58 | I'm not really sure about how to recreate my favorites:
Witchblade Maybe an eldritch knight with magic armor inspired by Evard (of Evard's Black Tentacles)?
Hellboy Tiefling fighter (champion subclass)? |
| #13spanglemakerMay 01, 2015 0:50:51 | My version of Iron Gnome, Antonio Starkus.
Rock Gnome Guild Artisan: Armourer and Tinker
Cleric of Knowledge 2- Holy Symbol of the Arc React'or
Warlock Fiend Tome Pact 9
Invocations: Book of Ancient Secrets (Holy Symbol Arc React'or), Devils Sight, Repelling Blast, Ascendant Step, One With Shadow). Rituals: Detect Magic, Alarm Spells: Hex, Protection from Evil and Good, Scorching Ray, Invisibility, Mirror Image, Fireball, Fire Shield, Dispel Magic, Scrying, Hold Monster Cantrips: Guidance, Light, Thaumaturgy. Eldritch Blast, Mage Hand, Minor Illusion, plus 3 Tome Pact Cantrips
Fighter or Paladin 1-2 ( for all Armour) or alternately take the Heavily Armored Feat.
My version of Iron Gnome, doesn't need High Intelligence but does need High Charisma. People are convinced that he is one of the smartest inventors in the world.
Another possibility is that he has Armor of Shadows Invocation ( replacing One with Shadow), the shadows form and appear as the Iron Gnome suit, with his holy Arc React'or on his chest.
I simulate force fields with Protection from Evil and Good, Fire Shield and Hold Monster. Other defensive systems are Mirror Image |
| #14ImaculataMay 01, 2015 2:13:42 | I'd say, make Batman a rogue definitely. He attacks from stealth after all, using both close combat and throwing weapons. Maybe rogue/monk multiclass, so he can fight with his fists. Paladin wouldn't fit, since batman doesn't have magical powers, nor does he smite his enemies. |

| #16arky_grimmJun 06, 2015 10:15:03 | Batman is awesome, so now I'ld like to know how would you create his arch-nemis, the Joker, in D&D? |
| #17arnwolf666Jun 06, 2015 22:34:10 | Joker Arcane Trickster 20 |
| #18FrogReaverJun 06, 2015 22:46:15 | Do you want a replica of batman or a character that has a great deal of batman flavor?
|
| #19rgoodbbJun 07, 2015 2:13:15 | Vision: Warforged Sorcerer?
Wolverine: Dwarf Barbarian
Aquaman: Water Genasi oviously, Paladin? Druid? Ranger? Warlock? Fighter? (Momoa looks bad-ass BTW)

Possible spoiler alert ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Peter Quill, Starlord, from Guardians of the Galaxy movie is a bard. He tells inspirational stories of Earth legends, has a music motif, was accused of using music for sorcery when he was about to kiss Gamora, definite roguish flavour, acts diplomatically and is a negotiator, could use the infinity stone to further represent magical ability, demonstrated deception and sleight of hand, and the obvious clincher was bursting into song in the final boss fight and initiating a dance off. |
| #22rgoodbbJun 07, 2015 3:26:01 | Bang on with Star-bard.
Groot: Awakened spell cast on Oak-tree becoming druid with branch wildeshape and very poor language skills
Rocket: Tinker or Svirf?

| #24cowleymenJun 07, 2015 21:08:12 | batman can be a valor bard for me. tons of tricks/gadgets at his disposal via spells, medium armor, and good weapon choice. Healing is combat medicine, after all look at alfred, guy has to be a damn field surgon at this point. Music is just flavor at this point. silence can be deafining |
| #25SaeviomagyJun 08, 2015 3:29:08 | Batman is a guy with investigation and stealth, some combat ability and most importantly infinite money. The joker as far as I can tell has zero abilities except for the Gotham city wide villain ability to attract infinite amounts of henchmen. |
| #26PhoremJun 09, 2015 9:48:09 | I always wanted to base a character off nightcrawler, who I always believed would be a rogue but getting teleportation to go with it seemed pretty hard. Perhaps something with the misty step would work out about the same. Can you get that with an arcane trickster build? |
| #27rgoodbbJun 09, 2015 11:54:47 | It was way too easy in 4th edition to get at-will teleportation by 10th level - and way too powerful.
It does seem they toned back a bunch with this edition. Which is good on the whole, but not for creating your faviourate heroes.
Home-brewed Item maybe.
But flight from 1st? there ya go Falcon, Angel Hawkman/woman etc. |
| #28FunkySpunkJun 09, 2015 17:17:58 | John Constantine: fiend pact Warlock.
Dr. Strange: Wizard
Thor: Tempest Cleric
|
| #29spanglemakerJun 10, 2015 0:32:48 | John Constantine: Rogue 2, Fighter 2, Wizard 1, Fiend Tome Pact Warlock 3+ (He is a caster of rituals, a master of legerdemain and sleight of hand, he's an accomplished grifter (con artist) and can handle himself in a punch up or bar brawl.
Dr Strange: Wizard and Warlock (Misty Visions, Devil Sight, Eldritch Sight, Ascendant Step) although recreating his primary magical items could cover some of this: Eye of Agamoto (Detect Magic, Darkvision, Arcane Eye) Cloak of Levitation (Levitation, Feather Fall, Astral Projection (self only) His pact is with the Ancient One ( the preceding Sorcerer Supremes of Earth) it could be Archfey, Fiend or GOO. It's probably a Tome Pact, but a Chain one might work. Transmuter or Abjurer probably for school, whereas Baron Mordo could have Necromancy or Illusion.
Nightcrawler some Variations:
Rogue 2, Warlock (Fiend Pact) 3 (Prestidigitation, Blade Ward, Hex, Darkness, Misty Step, Spider Climb, Devils Sight, Armor of Shadows) 2 Misty Steps per short rest
Rogue 2, Wizard 3 to 6 (Conjurer) Misty Step twice at 3rd level but at 6th it's three plus Benign Transposition (BT) feature (3 Misty Steps plus 1 BT which refreshes after casting Conjuration spells or a long rest so potentially 7 more uses
Rogue 2, Sorcerer 3 (Misty Step twice plus use Sorcery points for a further casting Rogue 2, Sorcerer 6 (Misty Step three times plus three more (3rd level spell slot) and 2 from Sorcery Points
Rogue 8 (Arcane Trickster) Misty Step learned at level 8 but you get some cool features such as 2 lots of Expertise, Stealth, Thieves Tools, Sleight of Hand and Deception most probably. Uncanny Dodge, Evasion (you bamfd out in the nick of time for half damage)

I would have pegged Constantine as a bard too. Ritual caster, escape artists, con man, sleight of hand, etc. Occasionally tries to inspire people and more often has a sharp tongue. Relies on skills and wit more than magic. Was in a band. The world's greatest con man does imply expertise. There's a few interpretations I could see, but I would go with Bard there too. |
