#1 Jaden.Shadowcraft Apr 02, 2015 5:52:36	On February and March 2nd, they released the articles for Unearthed Arcana. Last month, they talked not only about mass combat, but also about some of the results of the first survey. One important point of interest (at least for me) was the potential changes to the Ranger based on the survey results.   Now that it is April 2nd, I was hoping that they might be ready to release those new options for my beloved class.
#2 QwertyAzerty Apr 02, 2015 10:19:44	don't get too excited, they have to test internally all there ideas so it might take a few months.   Then they might simply release optional rules, which might not be available for AL.   Because some player said thay like there ranger, they don't want to change the ranger because they believe that if they allow the beastmaster 9for example) to contorl his pet as a free action (like the paladin can do with his find steed and like the wizard can do with his find familiar) people won't recognize there ranger and those who currently like there ranger won't be happy????.   In my opinion they might simply create a new subclass that will be more balance.   But what I would like to see (and I believe those change won't change the ranger concept so no one should cry that those change "destroy" there ranger.)   - the capstone get merge with the initial favor enemy (so from level 1 you can add your wisdom on your damage to your favored ennemy) then they can create a better capstone ability. - Primal Awereness, give you the distance and direction to the target and give you the kind that he his. So if you want to detect undead, you know there 2 vampire 300ft north, 1 ghould 20ft south and 1 lich 6 mile East.   - Beastmaster: the beast is independant but obey the command of the ranger. to command the beast, it require the ranger free action (exactly like the find steed/familiar ability work)   Maybe some minor tweek to avoid abuse, exploit might be necessary, but those change will NOT change the concept of a ranger, the ranger will still be a ranger and I do not believe anyone will be able to complain that he do not reconize his ranger anymore, because he can command his pet as a free action instead as an action. If something this enforce the ranger link to his pet, by being able to communicate command more easily.   But we have to wait to see what WotC will do and no one know how long this will be, next month? next week? after Easter break? next year? never? no one knows. No one knows how those change will be brought: Are they going to simply but a optional module? a new subclass? will they be allowed in AL or not? are they going to be allowed in all season (even in previous season) or just for the current season? or for all future season? no one know. And what will those change be (are they going to take my ideas?, someone else ideas? compeletly new idea that none of the player had? no one know.   So since there is so many incertitude, I would suggest you to not wait on it, Remember the longest 5 minutes are those you count looking at the clocks, compare to the shortest one being those you forgot because you were too busy (enjoying playing with your friend or rushing to finish the last 3 questions of your math exam before the bell)
