(moved from General Forum.  Wasn't paying attention to where I was. )

I'm toying with a concept and was wondering if anyone can come up with a good mechanical or thematic reason why a LN dex-based vengence paladin could NOT be a Harper.

The closest thing to a reason I could come up with so far is that Harpers are primarily, but not exclusively chaotic or neutral good, and also that she would be a follower of Helm (LN god of protection).

The concept for her was inspired by Jack Bauer of "24" fame though she will be a little more espionage (from a custom spy background) and a little less "blow stuff up and double-taps to the head".

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Chris

Would the character's goals of vengeance align sufficiently with the goals of the Harpers?

Keep in mind that the Code of the Harpers applies to the old harper organization - which was destroyed. The harpers have been recently reformed by Leosin et. al and have a slightly different focus than previously - and have since broadened their membership to anyone which identifies with their code.

The ALPG (p16) and Dnd Basic Rules v2 (Appendix C, p109) both have information concerning the new Harpers. In addition, Rise of Tiamat covers the various factions, their leadership and the various roles they play in the module.
