| #1daspianAug 12, 2014 14:19:33 | My question pertains to the character i am building; a Warlock. me and the DM have come up with a homebrew Race and a demon-god (outer type being) tied to this race.
anyways, without burdening you with my char. background story....
my question: does a Warlock have to knowingly enter a pact with this patron... or could he? akin to the Sorcerer... have it within their blood?
i mean my character's backstory without giving to much is that this demon-god pretty much possessed the king of this homebrew race, banged the king's wife, then transferred a portion of his demonic essence into the child...then sent this child into our game's world ( this race is banished in another dimension by the other gods a long long time ago)..... anyways, he plans to use this child to scheme his way back into the world....my question is, does a warlock have to knowingly enter a pact with this entity, or could his power be derived from this essence living inside him and he not even be aware what/ or how he's casting these spells, he just kinda assumed he was born with it and never questioned it etc. and sees it as just normal magic.
( i know the sorc gains their power from bloodlines etc, but i didn't choose sorc cause i felt warlock was more akin to the char concept i was going for....character slowly corrupted from within etc).

So, I'd say you're good to go on that end, even if your GM would insist on the standard Patron bits instead of innate sorcery. |

| #6daspianAug 13, 2014 11:32:36 | haha pretty much =P except The demon-god isn't dead... it's trapped in a interdimensional prison ( along with his minions I.E. the homebrew race)... but yea it's pretty much Bhaal =P
that thought actually never crossed my mind till now you mention it.. lol damn it pretty much is a bhaalspawn rofl......and here i thought i was being original. |
