How does a warlock prepare his/her spells? I get that the patron grants the warlock the power to cast the spell. But, does the patron also grant the warlock the knowledge of the spell through communing with the player?  Or, does the warlock have a spell book like a wizard?

He doesn't really prepare them, the knowledge of the spells is given through his patron somehow.

All of the spells he knows are always available to cast.

There is no spellbook (except with the one Invocation). The warlock just knows them. Always.

Wizards prepare from their book.

Clerics, Druids, Rangers, and Paladins prepare from the whole list.  The sub-classes also give them some that they just know.

Bards, Sorcerer's and Warlocks just know.
