#1 MadDrow265 Jan 08, 2015 22:19:39	I'm trying to create a warlock, but the spell progression chart confuses the crap out of me. The way I understand the chart (PHB, p.106) is that from levels 9-20, the highest level a warlock can learn is 5th level. However, the warlock spells list (PHB, p.210) goes all the way up to 9th level. Is this an epic typo, or am I just missing something? Is it too much to ask that I be able to utilize higher-level spells? It seems like the answer should be obvious, which is why it is so frustrating. Help?
#2 Devils-Advocate Jan 08, 2015 22:26:46	A pure Warlock is an AEDU class in disguise. Their cantrips are At-Will powers, they have a small number of low-medium level spell slots that they regain on a long or short rest, and they get utility powers and higher level spells that they can only use once per day from their Invocations.   The spell list goes all the way up to 9th level for multiclassing purposes. So if you take like one level of Warlock and the rest Wizard, you can use your high level spell slots to cast spells off the Warlock list.
