#1 xirr2000 Sep 02, 2014 9:11:06	Is this a typo?  The warlock spell list maxes out at 5th level per the warlock spell table in the 5e PHB.  Implying that the highest level spell a warlcok can cast is 5th level, but the warlock spell list goes up to 9th level like other arcane caste spell lists.  Part of me says this must be a typo, but another part of me can't beleive something this obvious made it to print?  Which is it?

This really brings down the utility of the Warlock IMHO. I have house-ruled that Warlock PCs may use their Mystic Arcanum feature to cast any spell that they know instead of just the one spell they chose for the class feature. It still only recovers with a long rest, but now the Warlock isn't boned if the 6th level or higher spell that they picked isn't useful in every situation where they need higher level spells.
#7 wills2009 Sep 05, 2014 20:33:18	I agree, not being able to use those higher slots really sucks. Especially since the spell list for the Arcanum is so limited, it's hard to pick stuff you actually need regularly. Being able to rank up a regular spell would help. Plus the whole slot rank thing is one of the things I love most in 5e for casters, it makes me not want to pick Warlock because he misses out.
