What are some of your less serious character concepts?

So, duing my time looking over the Player's Handbook, more than a few character concepts have jumped into my head. Many of them of the kind that wouldn't be allowed in games with a more, shall we say, serious tone. What kind of characters have you all come up with for games with a more lightheared/sillier tone?

Here are a few of mine, to start us off:

1.) A goliath bard named September who worships the elemental forces of Earth, Wind, and Fire. His bardic inspiration involves getting his allies to groove.

2.) A human fighter based off of Hak Foo from Jackie Chan adventures. His first feat would give him Combat Maneuvers from Level 1, all of them involving ridiculous names that he'd shout at the top of his lungs. Some of his normal attacks would also involve screaming, of course.

3.) A Moon Druid who insists that all of his wildshape forms are of the ultimate avatar of destruction: the goat. Every different shape is simply a different variation of a goat is all. Wolves are toothy goats. Triceratops are scaly goats. Etc, etc.

An extremely old man that insists he is learning new spells as he levels up, just remembering them because "I've forgotten more magic than any of you young punks could ever hope to know"

An 11 year old elven urchin boy named pocket who spoke in a terrible attempt at a Cockney accent. He fought against everyone's assumptions that he was a thief claiming he wanted to be a knight and punching out his enemies with homemade knuckledusters. He was a fighter in 2e my dm very generously counted the knuckledusters as clubs.

How about...

-An evocation wizard, or dragon bloodline sorcerer, with spiky hair and bright colored cloths(useless goggles worn for no point optional, but would certainly add style points) who claims to be a -ninja- and says his spells are "jutsu techniques!" Never even consideres actually being stealthy, and loves to just rush in and blast down the door. Makes copious use of "shadow clones" aka mirror image, and whenever he pulls out his most powerful spells he always uses prestidigitation before doing so to make his eyes look really weird/intimdating, -claiming- it's his "kekki genkai" the *insert random japanese word here*gan. All his somatic components are "handsigns" and for his verbal components he shouts out ridicilous "jutsu" names that are either directly ripped from Naruto, made up, but sound like a cliche ridicilous shonen anime attack, or are, at worst, psudo-japanese-sounding gibberish.

-A comedicly perverted Wizard who spends his memorized spells on things like Enhance Ability(charisma) (Lets go to my place), Gust of Wind(I wonder whats under that skirt...), Invisibility(I totally wasn't in the girl's bathroom, I swear!), Grease(Opps! Sorry, I didn't mean to do that!....I just I slipped on some grease! How clumbsy of me!), Silent Image(when all else fails....) and, of course, Black Tentacles. Bonus points if instead of being the typical "dirty old man" he looks and acts like every cliche anime male lead ever.

- A dragonborn of any classssssss who conssssstantly sssssspeaksssss in sssssssssnnaaketalk, becausssssssee he'ssssssss a reptillian humanoid and thatsssssssss jussssssst how anything that lookssssssssssssss like a reptile talksssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. Yessssssssssssssssssssss. *hisssssssssssssss* His actual voice, however, is completely normal, and when pressed he will breifly say he can speak normally but jussssst prefersssssss sssssssnnnaakeetalk. Yesssssssssssss. *hissssssss*

- A character with the entertainer background who looks and acts like michael jackson. Every cliche and joke about micheal jackson would be incarnate in this guy. His class? Cleric.

- A character who insists that he's a "gamer" from a strange plane called "earth" who is "trapped in an MMO" he  "just bought from Game Stop"  He outright refrences the system mechanics/crunch, breaks the 4th wall and insists that this is all a game. His "goal" is to "confront the evil system admin and cat-lover, Akihiro Nyaba, so I can finally get the heck out of this place!"  May be a two-weapon fighter, who likes to dress in all black, for style points. Everybody around him just thinks he's totally insane.

- A Barbarian "wizard" with no actual levels in the wizard class, and 8 or lower intelligence. Uses unarmored defense to maintain his AC while walking around in a set of poory made "wizard's robes"(complete with shody pointy hat with stars) and has "glasses" that are made of crudely hand-bent wire(done himself) despite the fact he can see just fine. Carries around a "spellbook" thats in fact just a regular book with poory-drawn "arcane glyphs" intermixed with doodles of monsters and attractive elvish woman. "Casts spells" such as "fireball"(alchemist fire), "animate dead"(sticks his weapon in a corpse and moves it around like a puppet), "knock"(bashes open a chest), "enhance ability"(waves hands around and babbles random jibberish, flexes, and then proceeds to go to the front line and bash faces in), Invisibility(waves hands around, says random gibberish and then whispers "Hey...Hey...I'm invisible...you can't see me!" and makes dumb faces, bunny-ears party members etc...) etc... In combat, he starts in back and refuses to go to the front lines until he's "done casting buffs" (which includes him waving his hands around and babbeling random arcane-sounding gibberish) or somebody points out the fact he's not actually a wizard, in which case he just flies into a blind rage and goes to town on the enemies.

- A Moon Druid Furry.

Note, I've never played any of these, but I do like making crazy character concepts that will never see the light of day because, why not?

More crazy characters to come later!

A chubby Half-Elf Bard named Blackjack. He has curly, brown hair and a patchy beard. He sings and dances around like an idiot all the time. All. The. Time.

A Lighfoot Halfling with the Entertainer background (stand-up comedian) named Verri Finefield. "What is the deal with Half-Orcs? Are the men, are the Orcs? I mean, who would want to sleep with an Orc, right?!"

Vivaldolio, Nephew of the Summoness Jemma

A portly, greasy, hairy-chested spice merchant whose only claim to notoriety was his famous aunt.

He was a conjurer, with a terrible Italian accent, who had pitiful Constitution and Dexterity.

Lots of laughs!

Characters I've played before in different editions:

- a farmer, uneducated yokel who got kicked in the head by a mule and woke up with sorcerer powers.  No knowledge of magic, no adventuring knowledge (doesn't check for traps, doesn't know anything about even common monsters) and little control over his own magic.  All spells are non-sophisticated (no command, no exotic material componants etc) and somatics/verbal are just pointing and screaming out nonsense

-a halfling assassin/charlatan who pretends to be a human child, never breaks character to anyone she doesn't  plan on killing

I haven't found a game for him yet as I only have one friend who very rarely DMs.

His name is Varus Voht.

Varus Voht was a cleric of war.

He joined a brigade launched to fight an opposing faction, this would be his very first fight and he was rather excited to bring down divine wrath upon his foes.

The moment the battle started he immediately began to launch his assault against his enemies, casting every spell he knew.

By the end of the fight, his allies were utterly destroyed and his enemies were left with barely a scratch.

The entire time Varus was accidentally throwing healing spells at his enemies- mistaking the complex preperations of his healing spells as offensive spells.

Luckily for Varus the enemy thought he was an allied life cleric, not wanting to risk being discovered he left with the opposing faction and lives with them to this day.

Varus Voht, is a cleric of life.

Someone I used to play with, whenever there was an opportunity for character creation, would try (and I say try because we never once let it fly) would fall back to the same thing.

He wanted to be a Dragon Scarf.

-My favorite I got to play was a cleric named Murdoc the Magnificent...hated unded, always wanted damsels to "give him some sugar", religion skill was non existent so he knew how to kick undead butt, just not why he was able to.  Had a "boom stick" rod and a mace..... no chainsaw hand but you guys get what i'm doing here.

-A halfling rogue-y/ private detective type named Herlock Sholmes, comes from Beakershire.  : )

-An eldritch knight with no int. bonus, went to wizarding school on an athletic scholarship... maybe only cast magic missle and shield all the time.

I had a greedy money-grubbing bard who crept into a grain supply wagon that was considered vital. I insisted there must be something magical in the grain, cast detect magic, the DM went with it and stated there was a single magical grain. I ate it before anyone else could find out about it and slowly started growing wheat instead of hair. That was the same bard who used exotic male dancing as a performance style for fascination and suggestion, and decided he could wipe an orc army with a masterwork disguise kit, a communicable disease, and bad pickup lines.

Not as goofy but I have been playing a dragon blood sorcerer who used to be a high end prostitute before becoming an adventurer. My DM made up a sex worker background for me and everything. My group was hired to drive off a goblin clan. I seduced the chief instead and the agreed to leave peacefully.

Custom Background: Sex Worker/Prostitute
Description:
You know from experience that the oldest profession is consistently lucrative. While your motivation may be based on desperation, pleasure or for more nefarious purposes, you understand that sensuality is a valuable tool and that for every pampered courtesan or filthy street urchin, there is always an interested client. Because of this, you tend to have a pragmatic (if not informal) view on society in all its forms. This trade is a mixture of sensuality and manipulation, which can reap as many benefits as dangers from those you service.
Skill Proficiencies (choose two): Deception, Insight, Performance, Sleight of Hand
Tool Proficiences: (choose two): Disguise Kit, Forgery Kit, Gaming Set, Musical Instrument
Feature: Open For Business
You have an eye for spotting clientele. When at “work”, certain establishments such as inns become either enthusiastic or repulsed by your presence. This can result in a free room for the night (provided you give the innkeeper a cut) or being barred from the premises.
Sex Workers typically fall into two categories:
Companions – typically groomed in brothels, aristocratic circles or other communities, a companion tends to be more educated and cultured to give off the impression of being respectable. Companions move easily between communities and at least understand the level of etiquette to keep favor. Sometimes they are employed as advisors or entertainers by their clients. Some companions are also employed as spies or saboteurs. They tend to be manipulative, adjusting their personalities to match their setting.
Hustlers – more often found in city slums or wandering in rural communities, the hustler often resorts to prostitution as a form of self-preservation. They have a harder edge and often attract harder clients. They are defined by their misfortune, which often results in a misanthropic attitude. Hustlers work solely for themselves, some dreaming of being rescued from their current life while others use their sensuality to lure clients to schemes of blackmail, robbery and murder.
Sample Personality Traits:
1. I can’t help but flirt with everyone I meet. Opportunities are everywhere.
2. I feel very competitive with beautiful people. I am very nurturing to those who are deemed unattractive.
Sample Ideals:
1. No one should feel ashamed of their sexuality. I fight against all forms of oppression.
2. I will survive at all costs.
Sample Bonds:
1. My madam/master is the only parent I’ve ever known. I will not allow their name to be sullied under any circumstance.
2. Street urchins are sacred to me. Impoverished children must be rescued or else they’ll end up as I have.
Flaws:
1. I compulsively kiss and tell, even when I know it can cause harm to others.
2. I become irrationally angry, if not violent, when someone touches me without permission

Another few that just occurred to me.

- A paladin of vengeance who never hesitates to remind his party members that his parents are deeeeeaaaaaad!!!

- A wizard who only uses melee and close-range spells. He casts spells like shocking grasp and vampiric touch via a combination of flying kicks, power bombs, and headbutts.

- A rogue assassin who gasps loudly and unconvincingly as he stands over enemies he has just killed, wondering aloud what could have happened to them and sighing that it will be a mystery for the ages (as he holds the bloody knife, of course).

- A Bard who is chronically out of tune, off-key, too loud, and lacks rhythm.  This is why everybody else takes damage when he plays music !

- Paladin(?) Folk Hero who is proselytizing for the Rise of the Proletariat

- anti-Druid who believes that properly applied technology will make the wilderness safer from civilization, by promoting more efficient use of existing resources

- Cherry-pick the criminal backgrounds for features + proficient with Sea Vehicles = Han Solo (as originally introduced in SW4, not after character maturation in SW5 and SW6)

- Halfling Rogue with whip and net, to run circles around the enemies and incapacitate them

- Dwarf with claustrophobia

- Arcane Trickster whose "day job" is a stage magician  Watch him pull a rabbit out of his hat

- Naruto-inspired, yell the name of your attack at the top of your lungs as your roll the d20 to attack.  Hope the DM is too intimidated to notice you were trying to attack with Surprise.

Steven is a regular at the local bar. At least he was, until his cash flow ran out. Now he's a homeless bum who follows whoever's offering a drink. This usually leads into danger, however his worship of drink has awarded him with the ability of drunk-caster, not that he knows it. Between half-forgotten arcane studies and general insults, Steven's ramblings usually ends with something burning. Should he get really angry though (heaven forbid you spill his alcohol), he'll get up in your face and deck you.

Mechanically Steven is a Favoured Soul with the Tavern Brawler feat (via variant human).

My candy mage, Saccharina Battenberg, would have to top the list; a 4th Ed. wizard character with powers based on delicious treats and cultural references; inspired by another player constantly singing "Chocolate Rain".  Scalding downpours of said Chocolate Rain, waves of Hot Coffee,  the sticky Annoying Orange Marmalade, the ambulatory Giga-Pudding, turning her mage staff into a giant defensive lollipop, and so on.

Also from 4th was a thri-kreen monk who believed, despite all evidence the DM provided, that the world of Dark Sun contained giant sandworms.  All his monk skills were flavoured to be about either salt or sandworms, and finding one was his life's quest.

3rd Edition had a half-song dragon anthropomorphic giant squid man who, despite his ridiculous Strength score and resulting destructive force, saw himself as a consummate ladies man and did his best to act as such.  Had a personalized greathammer called "The Whale" (about which he sometimes made personal comparisons).

3rd also saw an evil cleric of Healing and Pestilence (diseases are alive too), a cannibalistic character with something like Stockholm Syndrome from her experience with vampires, and an image-obssessed nymph.

5th Edition has yet to pop one of the more unusual ones for me, but I remain hopeful.

Similar to some of the other music based chars already mentioned.....

Half elf bard....Elvish Presley.....Constantly saying "Uh-huh-huh", "Thankyouverymuch" etc. Keeps making puns based on Elvis song titles "I guess you could say he was....All Shook Up!" When leaving a building or area casts a vocal minor illusion similar to a voice on a PA saying "ELVISH HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!" at an ubsurdly high volume.

Oh and he plays "a little less conversation a little more action please" as his battle music.

I've done a number of silly things. I think the most absurd was when I rolled a character after a long night of drinking and watching Iron Chef. Rogue multiclass. Went off adventuring because she wanted rare ingredients, rather than rare treasure...Red Dragon meat for the best steaks, or Medusa venom to get the glaze on her pastries "just right". Wielded a butcher knife, or sometimes a rolling pin. Sneak Attack was because she knew how to butcher meat well and didn't always wait for the monsters to die first. Evasion and Uncanny Dodge simulated luck, Rule of Funny, and her just not bothering to stop and consider the danger.
