What Shall I Bring to the Party?

Hi all.  It seems the last campaign I was in (with the pirate GOOlock) has lost it's steam and another of my group has started a new game to give the first DM time to breathe.

We're all level 1, and the campaign is a flashback story told by a Bard to our level 15 selves following a celebration.

We were told not to collaborate during character creation and this what came up:

a dwarven cleric (tempest)

a half-elf cleric(light)

an elf sorceror (draconic)

2 elf rangers (hunters)

and myself a dwarf fighter focused on heavy crossbow.

The two clerics have taken the leads as a pair of shield walls(one heals while the other AOEs) and the rest of us hang back and focus on brutes before picking off the little guys.

I've never been fond of MC, so if one of the Rangers wants to dip into rogue to fill that void, let them.

My question is would the party be better supported with a Battlemaster or Eldritch Knight?

side note, I think Champion is too vanilla.

depends on the campaign, but probably eldrich knight. picking up some utility spells.

Thanks, Mellored.  Looking at the group I see we're good on damage, and it seems Battlemaster is mostly extra damage with a few stunts thrown in.

Without a rogue to safely disarm stuff and open doors, I can see Mage Hand coming in handy.

Also either Light (cast on a bolt before being shot) or dancing lights around a target would be a great way to mark said target for party focus.
