It seems odd that a Human parent would would name their Tiefling baby an infernal name. My knowledge of Tiefling lore is almost non-existant and I'm making a Tiefling Bard for tomorrow. Anyone wanna school me on this?

| #3AaronOfBarbariaNov 21, 2014 19:27:56 | Maybe the human parent names the baby, maybe the infernal parent does as a stipulation of some contract, maybe the God of Names assigns the name and it just occurs to the parent(s) as a thought that [blank] just is the baby's name, maybe the culture determines the name such as the tribal elder meditating for a week following the birth of the baby and then returning from a vision quest with the baby's name...
Maybe how a baby gets named is irrelevant because of all the intervening time in which the baby grows up into an adult and becomes an adventurer and could at any time throughout choose their own name. |

For some reason I thought both parents were human and the only reason the baby was a tiefling was because of some curse. That's a lot of maybes. The other races have lore that I'm pretty familiar with, and I don't have to run through a list of possibilities and then pick my own as far as that lore goes. I thought maybe there'd be similiar lore on tieflings that someone knew and could share with me. |

Persaonally however I don't go in for all the big horns and tails and such, I am not interested in playing Hellboy. I prefer subtler appearances though something more grandiose could be appropriate at times.
Good luck with your names. Naming a character is difficult and weighs heavily on what I want him/her to play like. |

Even my kitty avatar's Tail was paying full attention. But it doesn't do spoiler alerts (willingly).
Just cast a few Contact Other Plane spells. You might get the right answer on the 3rd or 4th try. |
