|
| #2CFKMar 09, 2015 7:33:50 | Usually things that affect the mind. Like charm person and such... |
| #3FrogReaverMar 09, 2015 8:47:25 | Wisdom saves are perhaps the most annoying. They usually prevent you from acting or prevent you from doing something you really would like to do. Most fear and charm effects are wisdom saves. Many control type spells are wisdom saves. I'm not sure as far as monsters go.
I'm thinking fear and charm will be the most common ones you see. |
| #4Matau99Mar 17, 2015 18:26:18 | Basically, if it's something you would hate to have done to your character, even more than being petrified, it's probably a Wis save. Dominate Person basically gives your character sheet to the DM.
Charisma saves are incredibly nasty too, though there are almost none of those (the only one I can think of off of the top of my head is plane shift, which you do not want casted on you against your will.) |
| #5ChaosmancerMar 17, 2015 19:32:40 | Ghost possession is also a charisma save, while it's fright and aging effect are wisdom.
I think hold <insert noun> is a wisdom save as well |

The distinction between charisma and wisdom saves are pretty thin, given both are tied into a concept of "willpower"

I'm calling it now: arguments of which Saving Throw applies to this and that effect are going to be the "arguments about AoO rules" of this edition. |

| #13TalreignMar 18, 2015 19:23:04 | Most spells target either Dex or Wisdom. A very few target Con. If it targets Charisma or Intelligence, you most certainly in all worlds possible do not want to be affected by the spell if cast by a hostile. Things like Feeblemind, Maze, Banish, Planeshift, Magic Jar... A lot of monster abilities that really freaking suck, such as psionics, which target Intelligence saves.
Wisdom is pretty much everything that makes you hate your life, but everything that targets Intelligence or Charisma will make you regret dumping it. |
