2nd ed. Greater Command spell

May 14, 2004 10:29:54 Was there a 2nd ed. spell that the 3rd ed. "Greater Command" spell was based on and if so, what was it called and what book was it in ??

Or was it merely a 3rd ed. extension of the "Command" spell ??

May 14, 2004 10:59:19 I don't think Greater Command was ever in 2e but of course I could be wrong, as I'm more familiar with magic user spells than with priest spells. **never bought the priest's spell compendium books**

May 15, 2004 10:25:44 It was not in the 2nd Ed. PHB. Like Tedra, I don't believe it existed prior to 3E. Closest thing I can think of was the power of a God in 1e to use a command word at will that lasted 2 rounds for a lesser god and 3 rounds for a greater god (no save).

May 15, 2004 13:18:07 Yep, I checked the 1st and 2nd ed PHBs, 1st ed UA and Tome of Magic and there is no equivalent spell to Greater Command.

But I was wondering if it might be in any other 2nd ed book, like the Spell Compendium, etc.
