I have a player who is playing an Assassin character. He basically fashioned that character after Ezio, the main charcter of the game Assassin's Creed II.

The character wanted to step off a ledge 14 feet of the ground, in order to dramatically land in front of his opponent. He has said he doesn't want any mechanical advantage from this (such as Death Attack, or a surprise round).

I'm cool with this, but feel slightly bad about dealing 1d10 damage to his character, since his character could gain the bonus from Death Attack (at least).

Is it ok for me to just ignore the damage this once for dramatic flare, or should I apply it as a matter or principle?

Thanks for the replies in advance!

D&D 3.5 Tumble - DC 15 or so lets you treat a fall as if it were 10' shorter.  Give him a tumble check.
