Has anyone done reverse-engineering for some of the classes that first appear in the current edition? Now I don't mean classes that work differently, (adding domains to AD&D clerics) I'm referring to things like Warlocks, Soulknives, and users of Incarnum. If nothing else, maybe this thread would work as a place to house such ideas.

I'm actually working on the Soulknife right now for my "Rewritinng 2e Psionics" project. It's slightly different than the 3.5 Soulknife, but it has the same basic principles attatched to it.

I think the Warlock would be pretty easy, actually. It's just a bunch of Spell-Like Abilities. Take existing 2e spells and tweak them to be Warlock Invocations. Everything else would fit nicely. Give them Cleric or Rogue THAC0 progression, decent saves, damage reduction, energy resistance, and you're set. Maybe I'll work on that conversion next...

hmmmm...

I'm currently picking away at Totemist. For the most part, it's transitioning quite nicely. The number of soulmelds, essentia, and chakra binds converts just fine. Most of the class abilities don't take much to change. I'm tempted to give them a Dual Chakra ability at 9th level to make up for the fact they can no longer take the feat. I don't have the xp progression yet, but I have all the others (HD, saves, THAC0, etc).

Pretty soon I'll be ready to start on the soulmelds.

I would like to see the Arcane Archer converted to 2nd ed. Doesn't seem to difficult. Fighter/Mage (Elvin Archer - kit).
