In the Monster Manuals when looking up the movement of a monster it says

move 6"

does that mean it moves 60 feet/round?

Or 60 Yards/round in an outdoor setting.

That's what the rules state, assuming also you're not using the optional encumberance rules.

It's a holdover from the old tabletop days. 1" = 10 feet indoors and 10 yards outdoors.
There is a specific exception for spell ranges and areas IIRC - I think they are always feet.

Thanks Kheldren, I thought it was for table top w/ figures, strange they kept the inches sign in when rules state movemnt in feet for players.....

You have to remember, the rules were originally for a tabletop wargame.
