Any advice? Help!
My character (CN Elf Ftr8/MU8, wielding Blackrazor) just acquired one of these. I've got a staff of power and a wand of polymorphing that need recharging, but those seem like wastes of the ring's power. I could save the wishes, but there is a greedy halfling thief and conscienceless half-orc assassin in the party that might steal it before I could use the wishes.
Any advice? Help!
Use a wish to have the party turn a new leaf
... and she has skilfully [sic] worded the limited wishes to guarantee that it's almost impossible to kill her. The DM should determine details if needed, but she has large saving throw bonuses against poison and other special attack forms such as paralyzation, and she has effectively used limited wishes in the form of contingency spells to remove her body to a safe place should she be overcome and then has a limited wish ready to restore her. The sword, with an Intelligence of 13, is smart enough to be able to make her very difficult to kill indeed and a disintegrate spell is one of the few things which might do the job.
Needless to say, a single full wish should be able to accomplish for you what multiple limited wishes have for her...
Failing all of that see if you can get yourself a level or three.

Wish for the halfing to be much more generous, and for the half-orc to acquire a conscience and some empathy for others. Problems solved!

Would advise against using wishes to change other players characters into something other than what the player running the character in question has in mind for that PC. If these are NPC's then that's another matter.
What you need is a helm of telepathy or some item/ability similar to that which is attuned to your problematic allies thought processes, so you can stay one step ahead of them if/when they are plotting against you or the other PC's in your group. Maybe you could wish for something along those lines.

Or you could wish for unlimited wishes, stating that you don´t want to see time tampered with while you get more wishes (Once a player asked for more wishes, and everytime he wished something, I transported him back in time to the moment where he made that wish)
I need more info on the MU class.
That would be a Magic User - one of the original classes, along with fighting men and clerics. Later editions refer to them as mages or wizards. Not to be confused with the Illusionist class.
Well, there's always the lame thing, wish for a staff of 50 wishes. If I am not mistaken, if casted as the spell there would be a rediculus xp cost (something like 300,000+) but casted from a magic item, no experience is necessary. However I reckon your DM will smite you for breaking his game if you do this.
