Can anyone tell me what level range this should be played at? I'm considering running my group through it, but before I buy it I'd like to know what range it is.

What can I say, i'm cheap and I'm dutch.

Info on this module is at: http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/fr/frc2.htm

I own it, and would highly recommend it. Are you running a 2nd or 1st edition game?

Actually, I was going to convert it to 3.5 but keep the same timeline. When running things in the Realms, I always like them to occur before the ToT for some reason...perhaps because I hope my PC's will eventually participate in it...who knows.

EDIT - After following that link, I can't find an mention of the suggested level range. Any assistance?

I run my 2nd edition AD&D PBeM (and tabletops) prior to the ToT. Reason being: I hate Cyric, and vastly prefer the Bane, Bhaal and Myrkul triumvirate.

Let me grab my CotAB module now... Says 4-8 adventurers, 6-9th level. Keep in mind that it was designed for 1st & 2nd Edition AD&D. Not sure how a level range like that would compare to 3e CRs (since I no longer own my 3e material).

At any rate, good luck - I got my copy on eBay for $15 plus shipping on eBay. I'm sure you can find it there for similarly good prices.

I'm worried that by scaling down the encounters it won't be as "cool" but I do want to run this as an opener to a campaign...

nothing says evil like Cultists of Moander.

I have both ROA and COTAB and they are pretty good REALMS adventures...but they can be pretty freakin tough for the levels they are set at...I would suggest some pretty tough characters to slog their way through.

I believe the computer game version started at 25000 xp, roughly 5th level in 1st edition. Ahh, memories...

I think I'll start out the group at level 2, thereby enabling some EL +1 races and increase the overall might of the group.

It would be about the same, give or take...
