| #1zombiegleemaxMay 13, 2004 15:34:00 | I remember...way back when...i discovered a great game called D&D. The rules were divided into Basic (B) and Expert (X). And we played and played and played...! Then we noticed another game was being played...it was like our B/X D&D, but they added an "A" in front of the title! And boy did those "A"ers look down on us poor lowly B/Xers. But we kept on playin' our B/X D&D, dispite the jeers. But then, out of the blue, a new D&D came onto the scean...2nd E AD&D! Now, we poor B/Xers had to contend with an extra letter and a number...but we kept on playin' or B/X! Now aint it just funny that all those "A"ers and 2Eers, who made fun at us poor B/Xer, find themselves in the same boat as we? Gotta love karma;) |

I for one would not mind seeing more B/X talk here about either. Or 1e talk, or 2e talk, or OD&D talk. Notice which "e" was not mentioned? Too much nonOOP talk on a OOP board of late. Now, on a B/X topic, I have integrated the B/X elves into my 1e campaign, of a sort, and I also plan on a simplified B/X combat system replacing 1e's as well. When I switch my campaign from Greyhawk to my homebrew, I plan on implementing the changes. |
