i'd been looking over the various boards,groups,lists etc. Trying to find a lively discussion group that dealt with the older RPG systems (most importantly AD&D) i found a few but they are sparse in posts or they spend all their time in inane "3rd edition sucks" diatribes or badmouthing WOTC. both of which to me seem like a waste of time. I noticed you have a few of those folks here but they, thankfully seem to be in the minority. I myself gave into a rant a while back on my weblog http://swords-of-erisa.tripod.com/erisa/index.blog?entry_id=122834 about returning to 2nd edition but my departure from D20 was a personal choice. I won't bad mouth the system, the folks who put their heart into writing it, or the company that supports it. in fact I say: Game on! whether you play AD&D, GURPS, D20, or Cyborg Commandos.
Currently I run two games on the net a PBEM AD&D game and a Pulp Adventure game Using the Dime Heroes system from Deep7 games.
Well anyway, I hope to contribute here and get into some meaningful discussions on the older stuff. I have some projects on the board. one is converting the Marvel Superheroes Roleplaying system to a pulp adventure system, the other would be using Star frontiers rules as a possible "Firefly" campaign model.

Mar 24, 2004 14:00:25 		I am a big fan of Star Frontiers. I updated the system to D20 format to play as a PBEM. We have a small following, but ok. I would love to hear about your "Fire fly" campaign.

Try the Dragonsfoot boards. Lots of posts, little edition bashing. Probably the best forum on the web totally dedicated to older editions.

PS I also like Firefly alot. One of the better sci-fi shows to come out in a very long time. Too bad it has been cancelled. I guess it wasn't silly enough or something.
