Hello!

I’ve recently been scouring the net looking for players for an OD&D campaign I’m starting up in London (spaces open if anyone is interested…), and I was curious how many other people are running OD&D campaigns at the moment? How long have you been running; are there any funny stories?

i've been trying for some time to find players for my OD&D campaign. (about 14 years now)

we played for 10+ years. 3-4hrs per session; 5 sessions per week; 50 weeks per year.

when are you starting. maybe i can get a transfer to london.

Diaglo, you'd be welcome at my table anytime. I've having trouble finding players at the moment, but it looksl ike I'll have enough to get started. I'll be starting on the 1st of November, and running every other Saturday, if anyone is interested.

Hey,
I found that there are very few First edt & D&D Basic Campaigns still running-best thing would be to start you own "New Game" With new players.

I managed to get to players-work mates to do a one off in & out adventure. The game went well and a month later they were asked to play another. The group has grown to six players and its been running for a few months now.

We play 3 times a week in our lunch hour which really works well.
A web site called www.RPGnow.com is an awsome spot for purchasing First Edition-It comes in PDF form-this is easily thrown on a CD. I managed to get the 3 Core First edt Books for under $20.00

Hey, it's Richard Tongue, editor of OD&DITIES! :D Hi, Richard!

I'd play in an OD&D campaign. Alas, Winnipeg is a long walk from London (or even Georgia for that matter).

I'm in Isleworth - it should be easy to get to my house from Reading. The express train to London passes through Brentford station, which is a short bus ride from my house (I think there is a slower train that stops at Syon lane station, on stop up from Brentford - that's just a ten minute walk).

That's a real bother. I used to live in London and have now moved to Ireland and am having the same problem. It's very hard to find a group to DM or play.

I would loved to get involved but unfortunately my wife might get peeved off very quickly if I am nicking off to London every second weekend.

I notice alot of msg boards contain a "Gamers looking for Gamers" forum. Here's one at Necromancer

I'm confused. On your "OD&DITIES" website you erroneously refer to the Basic, etc, rules as "Original D&D". So what are we talking about here in this thread; Basic, or original D&D?

they are one and the same in essence

Original D&D constisted of a single box set, which later was broadened into the basic set and expert set, then even later, into the five sets, which even later into one big cylopidia (sp?)......
