Jun 04, 2004 15:52:47 Ok so I was looking through the PHB and it talks about the Paladin's Holy Sword and it has the little note of ask your DM what other powers it has....so I go to my trusty DMG and look it up..only to find that the page listed doesn't have the information..and I can't seem to find it anywhere in my book...could someone give me the specifics on this?....btw it's second edition...if that helps or matters at all....thanks in advance..

Also on a side note...are there any D&D chatrooms?

As for the chat rooms I wouldn't know. I just drop by a few boards like this one myself.

AD&D changed things so that vorpal blades and swords of sharpness were no longer holy swords, but I do have one undiscovered holy vorpal sword tucked away somewhere in my campaign waiting to be found by some lucky paladin.

And when were vorpal and sharpness blades ever holy blades by the way? I've played since the basic days and I don't recall anything about that. In fact, I don't recall basic even having vorpal or sharpness swords (I remember something about slicing though...lol). Anyway, where was this information?

Jun 07, 2004 2:25:55 Slicing was in the Companion rules for D&D. The original D&D referred to by ScottyG I believe must be the early Dungeons and Dragons before the AD&D/D&D split. That said, I had never heard fo vorpal & sharpness swords being holy.

Hmm, I was DMing an OA AD&D campaing and the lone samurai rolled a limb-removal on a gargantuan humanoid he was fighting. I rules that it cut off a toe due to size contraints (I think the monster was about 100' tall) - does this sound like a good call on my part? - the player didn't object at the time.

Sounds like a good call to me. After all, you wouldn't expect to find a vorpal nail clippers would you?

Even if you did, you probably wouldn't lose your head over it.
