#1 jage May 11, 2008 12:36:27	There seem to be more Pathfinder questions here than elsewhere, so here goes: How does the Rogue Talent in the Alpha release actually work? If I take "minor magic" do I have to indicate which cantrip I take at the time? e.g. Rogue Talent lvl 2 - Minor Magic: Disrupt Undead If not, how do I "learn" spells? Can I take a different cantrip each day by studying or something? Then, if I do have to specifiy "Minor Magic: Disrupt Undead" can I ever change it? I don't see my rogue benefitting from 1d6 damage to 1 undead at 15th level, so the slot becomes a waste. Thoughts? Oh yeah this is on, p. 24 of the Alpha Pathfinder PDF.
#2 incarnum May 11, 2008 14:03:26	First off Paizo has its own message boards and well because Paizo truly cares about their game and is very responsive to players feedback they are constantly checking them and responding to people. I highly recommend using them. I love paizo and wish i could personally give them all high fives! http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizoPublishing/pathfinder But to the rogue talent for alpha 2: My reading is that you cant learn any new spells. you just pick one when you first choose the talent and thats it. But i would recommend working something out with your DM based on the theme of your character so he can relearn the spell to something more useful, like detect magic, at high levels. But it is a 0th level spell and thus none of them will be that useful at high levels. I think it is more of a thematic thing. Also if you have a recommendation for how to adjust that system put it on the paizo boards and it may make it into the final product.
#3 jage May 11, 2008 14:14:57	It's nice that they check their message board and all, but they are (the message board itself) nearly impossible to use. For the record I took: Minor Magic-Read Magic and Major Magic-Detect Undead as I feel both these will be valuable at any level (it's an undead campaign). If it turns out I can change them great, if I'm stuck with them that's fine too. Hopefully I'll get a definitive answer- I was hoping that the wording was similar to wiz/sorc wording and someone more familiar with spells could say, "Ah, it means this..." where are the rulez lawyers when you need em. :D
