Quasi-deities?

Apr 05, 2007 14:23:00 Who were the quasi-deities described in the old Greyhawk boxed set? I remember Kelanen (though not his swords) and possibly Heward, but the rest I've forgotten. Murlynd? Was he one of them?

If it helps: in Dragon #71 Gygax said that Heward, Keoghtom, and Murlynd are quasi-deities, and that there are more including Daern, Johydee, Nolzur, Quaal, and Tuerny. He also said that Kelanen may or may not be a true deity, and referred to him as a hero-deity.

Apr 06, 2007 5:57:10 The brown box for the campaign setting-- one book had a picture of charging knights, the other had a picture of the hex map. The quasi-deities were in one of them towards the back.

Apr 06, 2007 12:05:29 Kelanan, Prince of Swords... ahh the memories. I had a player from another DM's campaign that wanted to port his character over to my game. I had him face off against Kelenan for admittance to the Prime Material. He beat Kelenan down and I let his character inherit the title, "Prince of Swords". Just a silly little memory from middle school...

Apr 06, 2007 12:20:42 What were the names of Kelanen's swords? I seem to recall they were both intelligent items-- self-wielding, even.

Apr 06, 2007 12:53:15 Swiftdoom and Sureguard. They both have 17 Intelligence, and Suregard can Dance for three rounds.
