#1 lhmloa Jan 03, 2007 9:51:24	I have a question regarding the cavalier from Unearthed Arcana. Do the retainers he must hire get subtracted from his total number of henchmen or are they seperate? Thanks
#2 emeriliath Jan 03, 2007 11:53:40	Retainers are usually specialists and very low-level fighters (except lieutenants and captains). Henchman are more heroic true adventurers of a higher caliber. Usually they become henchmen due to needing money, experience, or they idolize the PCs. Charisma limits henchmen and not retainers (otherwise you could never build an army!). I would think that they would be a retainer, unless you wanted to take it as a henchman. The retainer would be with the cavalier for training and would rotate out as he progressed. The henchman would rise in levels and stay the character (assuming he's paid regularly!).
