This forum is meant to be a "soap box" forum where you can air your well-considered views on issues that pertain to gaming. Posted articles should be treated much like a paper you would submit for a class: thoughtful, attention given to grammar, spelling, and format, and a solid argument for your point of view. Submissions aren't required to be earth shaking or controversial, however we welcome provocative points of view. As a rule, brand new spells, magic items, or PrCs, made up from whole cloth will not be accepted. Please post those to the appropriate board in the main D&D index. Ones that argue that an existing rule, class, spell, etc. is flawed and offer changes big or small are fine. 2) Why doesn't my submission show up? The moderator of this forum--Regdar--has to approve an essay before it is posted. Currently he tries to review submissions at once a week, usually on Sunday. 3) Okay, I read an article and I completely disagree with it. Since I can't post, how can I air my opinion? You can reply to any existing post. However posts that are the equivalent of "this sux" as well as "this rocks!" will not be approved. If you want to just give a thumbs up or down response, please use the "rate this thread" function enabled in this forum. 4) Okay, my submission was posted and now people are reply that they love/hate it. Am I obliged to respond? Not at all. Your article is welcome to stand on its own much in the same way it would if you had published it in a magazine. Of course, you are welcome to respond as well, though simple "Thanks" replies should be sent via email or PM to the poster.

Did it say "Okay, but here is my better idea..." and so should have been a brand new article? All these reasons can cause a post to hit the delete bin instead of getting approved. Occasionally, you may get it mailed back to you with a request to revise for grammar/spelling, but not always. The idea behind Regdar's is to post largely like you would for a publication for the initial article and like you would for "the letters to the editor" of a newspaper with responses. It should be more formal in tone than your average forum post. 6) Will you return my post if it doesn't get accepted? Maybe. If the article seems like all it needs is some spell checking, you may get it emailed back and asked to resubmit. If the problems go deeper it isn't likely. You may want to save a copy on your computer if you really care about what you have written. 7) Given all the feedback I've gotten, I want to edit my original article. How do I? You have two options. One, resubmit the revision as a wholly new article and you can post a final reply to the first article asking further discussion to take place in the new article. Two, you may email the revised article to [email]mimir@wizo.wizards.com[/email] and your original will be replaced during the next round of moderation.
