I am a fairly new player in comparison to many people likely posting in this forum, but I have found some old copies of gaming magazines. They have some "Play as you go" campaigns in which you need no DM, you just read the passage that is revealed and then act upon it, moving along as you accomplish tasks. Can anyone link me to one of this type of campaign converted into 3E or 3.5? I do not know the mechanics for 1E or 2E, but want to learn eventually. Thanks!

Self play is great. I don't have any links, sorry. But random encounter tables and random dungeon map generators are your friend. I made a 3.5 class for it (in my sig). For 3.5 you could also try a bard/sublime chord or a gestalt build, and factotum in Dungeonscape is supposed to be pretty versatile.
